New Stars in the LA Galaxy

Herbalife is the Official Nutrition Company and Presenting Sponsor of the LA Galaxy. The team, led by captain David Beckham, kicked off their first home game of the 2008 season at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. with a 2-0 win against the San Jose Earthquakes.

New to the lineup this season are three Herbalife-sponsored players. Defender Chris Klein of St. Louis, Mo. joins the team from the Kansas City Wizards; forward Carlos Ruiz of Guatemala City, Guatemala was most recently a member of FC Dallas and defender/midfielder Greg Vanney of Tempe, Ariz. last played for DC United.

Herbalife extends its "Presenting Sponsor of the Los Angles Galaxy" status with an exciting five-year agreement with AEG. Look for the Herbalife name front-and-center on the team´s jerseys starting this season!

"The national and international appeal of soccer and of the Los Angeles Galaxy club in particular, is a natural fit for our global philosophy of promoting a healthy, active lifestyle," said Herbalife CEO Michael O. Johnson. "We have had tremendous success partnering with many AEGowned properties in our effort to build our brand image and allow our independent Distributors increased access to new customers."

The Herbalife name will appear on all official team wear, replica jerseys and other select team merchandise. Herbalife is also the official sponsor of all international and exhibition games, garnering bigger and better media exposure–from television commercials and radio spots to Web content.
