Herbalife Indonesia announces Sharia Certification at Halal Bihalal with Media

Herbalife Indonesia, a premier health and wellness company, community and platform, announced a significant achievement: Sharia Certification from the National Sharia Council – Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI), at a Halal Bihalal event with the media to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. This certification affirms Herbalife Indonesia's commitment to providing products and services that comply with Sharia principles for the Indonesian community.

Oktrianto Wahyu Jatmiko, Director & General Manager of Herbalife Indonesia, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for this certification. "The Sharia Certification marks a significant milestone in Herbalife Indonesia’s journey to provide trusted nutritional solutions that adheres to Sharia values for the Indonesian populace. This is evidence of our commitment to meeting the needs of Muslim consumers in Indonesia and providing assurance that all of our business operations comply with Sharia principles," he said.

Furthermore, Oktrianto explained that the Sharia Certification complements the Halal Certification that has been previously obtained for all Herbalife products. "This provides additional assurance to consumers in Indonesia that Herbalife products are not only halal but are also managed in accordance with Sharia principles," he added.

The Sharia Certificate from DSN-MUI is awarded to companies that meet a stringent set of requirements. These include specific criteria such as the business and marketing model, product compliance, halal certification from the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) for food, beverages, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals, as well as proof of membership in the Indonesian Direct Selling Association (APLI).

The National Sharia Supervisory Board of the Indonesian Sharia Council-DSN-MUI, KH. Dr. Moch Bukhori Muslim, also in the same event, explained the importance of Sharia certification for the company. "Sharia certification is a positive step that shows Herbalife Indonesia's seriousness in running a responsible business and in accordance with universal values of goodness and justice. This certification will be able to provide a sense of security and trust for all consumers, not only Muslims, towards Herbalife products and businesses," he said.

Currently, Herbalife Indonesia markets over 30 nutrition and health products through entrepreneurial distributors who provide one-on-one coaching. With the attainment of the Sharia Compliance Certificate, the company’s multi-level business model, marketing programs, products and distribution processes have been recognized as meeting the Sharia standards established by DSN-MUI. This reflects Herbalife’s commitment to delivering high-quality products tailored to the needs and beliefs of Indonesian consumers, particularly Muslims.

"We hope that with this Sharia Certification, Herbalife Indonesia can continue to make a positive contribution to the health and well-being of the Indonesian people, as well as become the main choice for consumers looking for halal nutritional products that comply with Sharia principles," Oktrianto concluded.
