Description of the Service and Measures to Support Accessibility
Digital Platform Overview
Herbalife operates two primary digital platforms to facilitate customer engagement, product distribution, and business operations:
Herbalife.com serves as the Company's primary consumer-facing portal, enabling visitors to:
- Browse and discover the Company's product catalog
- Access detailed product information and benefit specifications
- Complete customer registration
- Submit inquiries regarding Distributor opportunities
- Place product orders (registered customers only)
MyHerbalife.com functions as the Company's proprietary e-commerce and business management platform, providing registered Preferred Members and Distributors with access to:
- Comprehensive product catalog and online ordering capabilities
- Distributor account management tools
- Subscription and auto-shipment management functionality
- Business performance reports and analytics
- Communication tools and event coordination resources to support Distributor business development
Both platforms are localized for each country in which the Company operates, featuring:
- Content presented in the official language(s) of the respective jurisdiction
- Product offerings and services specific to each market
- Multi-device accessibility to accommodate diverse user requirements and preferences
Specifically, we have taken the following measures to ensure the accessibility of the service/product:
- Text-based descriptions: alternatives for non-text content and written information available in plain language
- Screen reader compatibility: functional with popular screen readers
- Multimedia alternatives: when applicable, captions/subtitles, transcripts, audio description, and alternative text accompanying visual and multimedia content.
- Sufficient contrast and zoom functionality: text resize for users with visual disabilities
Our service is delivered through an interface that supports accessibility by:
- Simple navigation: logical layouts with consistent headings, landmarks, and navigation
- Keyboard accessibility: functions that can be operated via keyboard
- Error notifications: clear and descriptive error messages to guide users in resolving and preventing errors.
We are continuously striving to improve our accessibility by providing:
- Ongoing accessibility training: Our team receives regular training on accessibility best practices, ensuring employees have the skills required to keep our services inclusive and conformant with current standards.
- Regular testing: We continually test our services against the latest accessibility guidelines, including WCAG 2.1 Level AA and EN 301 549, and make necessary updates to sustain accessibility.
- Feedback mechanisms: We have established channels for users to provide feedback on accessibility issues and aim to address concerns promptly.
- Perceivable content: All visual and auditory information is presented in ways that are adaptable to users' needs.
- Operable interface: The service is fully navigable by keyboard and works seamlessly with assistive technologies.
- Understandable design: Our interface uses clear and simple language, avoids unnecessary complexity.
- Robust content: We ensure compatibility with current and future user agents, including assistive technologies.
- Integration with UserWay accessibility widget: We integrate Herbalife.com website with accessibility widget, power by Level access, to improve digital accessibility and user experience. This solution offers a suite of customizable features—including screen reader support, contrast and text adjustments, and dyslexia-friendly fonts—that empower users to tailor their browsing experience to their individual needs.
Additionally, we leverage an industry-leading digital accessibility solution, Level Access, to maintain and improve conformance with accessibility standards. Through our collaboration with Level Access, we have adopted the following practices to enhance every user’s experience:
- Self-evaluation: Regular internal audits and evaluations
- Third-party audits and testing: Assessments by external accessibility experts
- Monitoring: Automated conformance scans at regularly scheduled intervals.
- CI/CD testing: Testing for accessibility errors in code during the development pipeline.
- Record keeping: Internal reporting on accessibility conformance.
- Other: Provide information about the methodologies used to assess the accessibility of your services.
Conformance Status
The portions of our website covered by the European Accessibility Act observe the following standards:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA
- EN 301 549
Limitations and Alternatives
While we aim to ensure accessibility for all users, some limitations may exist. If you experience any issues, please let us know, and we will work to provide an alternative solution. Please find below known limitations which we are working to fix in near future.
- Audio support: narrated descriptions for users with visual disabilities will be included
- Help and support: Make and provide support and documentation in accessible formats
- Video support: Some product videos from third-party suppliers may lack closed captions
Disproportionate Burden
The page header lacks a 'skip to main content' option, making it difficult to bypass repeated content. Changing the device orientation from horizontal to vertical can sometimes make it harder to view content. Currently a high contrast mode option for improved visibility is not available.
We have evaluated the cost of resolving these navigation and accessibility issues and determined that addressing them now would impose a disproportionate burden under the accessibility regulations. We will reassess these issues in time as we continue to evolve our commerce platforms.
